In reflecting on today's, Feast of Transfiguration, Pope Benedict said “In our time too we urgently need to emerge from the darkness of evil, to experience the joy of the children of light!” This process for us is called purification and transformation. Through purification we emerge from the darkness of sin which enslaves us. We then become who we were once at baptism through the grace of transformation: children of light. Both are daily conscious decisions on our part: to turn away from sin and put on the mind of Christ Jesus.
