Thought of the Day June 22, 2026 Seek goodness

"A good man is not a perfect man; a good man is an honest man, faithful and unhesitatingly responsive to the voice of God in his life.” St. John Fisher


We seek to be perfect, but no one is perfect except God. We are called to be perfected like God. What does this mean? A good man is one who has God at the center of his life, seeking to do the good that God wills. That life of goodness is directed to God in praise and worship, in gratitude and love. At the same time that goodness is reflected in our relationships with others, seeking to reflect the God in us to the other. Neither is easy but possible with the grace of God and the strength that comes from him. As Paul tells us. "In him I can do all things." When we live in this goodness, we are being perfected.

About the Author

Jesus said that we are to go to the ends of the world, proclaiming the Gospel of Salvation. Our recent Holy Fathers have urged us to use the social media to accomplish this task. This is just one attempt to respond to both calls. Join me in this effort.
