Thought of the Day November 6, 2015

"Forgiving means to pardon that which is unpardonable, or it is no virtue at all. (G. K. Chesterton) Is this not what Jesus has done and does for us? From one point of view our sins are unpardonable because the person offended is God. But out of mercy and love God chooses to forgive us and not to remember any longer our sins. In this he gives us the example. Nothing that another has done against us to offend us is unpardonable, because it can never compare to my sin against God. If Jesus could cry out from the cross: "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do", can we not do the same, especially since we are not innocent of sin and we are not on the cross.
