Thought of the Day November 9, 2023 My choice

We are not always masters of the unfolding of our lives, but we can always be masters of the meaning we give them. Our freedom can transform any event in our lives into an expression of love, abandonment, trust, hope, and offering. The most important and most fruitful acts of our freedom are not those by which we transform the outside world as those by which we change our inner attitude in light of the faith that God can bring good out of everything without exception.” Fr. Jacques Philippe

I am reminded of an analogy I heard many years ago. After a hard rain, two people can look at the same window and have two different responses. One could be ugh, seeing all the debris and mud; the other can we wow, seeing the blue sky and the sunshine. How often have we responded in a negative fashion, which in turn, colored our day? What would have happened if we would have given an upbeat response to a situation we had no control over? It doesn't change the event, but it changes how we allow that event to impact our lives. God is a wow person not an ugh person.
