If it was true love, it would be spoken for the good of the other with no expectation of any return. But since it is worldly love it is automatically false and superficial. And the fruit it bears is sour and destructive. But if our love for the other reflects God's love for us, it will bear fruit that lasts eternally. Beware of the flatterer for the trapped laid is to enslave us. On the other hand, true love always frees us to be who really are and to reach our full potential. That is the love God shows us.
