What sustained the early martyrs, was their faith in Christ's death and resurrection. They were willing to sacrifice their lives rather than sacrifice their relationship with God. Today, modern martyrs are witnessing this same conviction, choosing life with Christ rather than life without Christ. Do we have the same conviction? We may not be faced with actual martyrdom, but we are faced with moral choices. The world calls us to follow what is contrary to God. Christ calls us to follow his way of life. What the world offers will lead to eternal destruction. What Christ offers will lead to eternal life. What choices are we making in this struggle for our souls?
