What true son would not like to see his mother honored and loved? When one serves the Mother of Jesus, he is serving her Son. To serve and love the Mother takes nothing from the Son. It is because of the Son that the Mother is served. For Jesus himself called her blessed for hearing and acting on the word of God to her. Our devotion to Mary is rooted in our love of God. At the same time, not to serve and honor the Mother whom God has himself honored with the greatest dignity, to be the Mother of the Savior, is an affront to the Son himself.
