Not leaning on the Lord means that we depend on our own efforts to be in control of everything in our life. The more we attempt to push forward on our own, the more we lose ground. But like the man in folk lore, we contine to try to push the boulder up the mountain incline unsuccessfully. God smiles, but waits for us to turn to him in our need. He doesn't remove the boulder but gives us the grace to accomplish his will,  What we can't do on our own, we can do in him. Give the control to God and watch how life will become more meaningful.
