Jesus was by nature the Son of the Father. God willed us to be His adopted sons and daughters, so we can share in His divine life eternally. But because of Original sin, we became alienated from God, deserving of eternal alienation. Yet, God loved us too much. So the Son became like us in all things but sin to restore us to right relalionship. He gave his life, so that through the waters of Baptism we might be washed clean and become children of God once more. Shown so much love, should we not cherish this gift? How ungrateful we will be that after so much love, we would choose to separate ourselves from God eterally.
