Recall the words of Jesus, when he said that from the heart comes evil deeds. In a sense, thoughts enter into our head, but what we do with them flows from the desire of our hearts. Paul reminds us to take captive our thoughts. The desires of the heart acts as a filter system. What is that filter but love of God and neighbor. That is what God looks for in our decision. Were we motivated by love of him and others or by an inardent love of self? Though we may try to live in denial, the truth is known to God. Do all out of love and you will be in right relation with God and self.
