Thought of the Day October 4, 2022 Reaching the impossible

By 10:30 AM

Today, we celebrate the feast of St. Francis of Assisi. I would like to share on of his sayings. "Start by doing what's necessary; then do what's possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible."

Do you desire to be with God forever in glory? Of course you do! Where to start? Jesus has saved us and has made it possible for us to be with him. In fact, he desires that we will be with him. What do we have to do on our part.? Start by doing what's necessary. Get serious about the sins in your life that are stumbling blocks to the fuller life with Jesus. Only by God's grace can you make progress in this area. As you are uprooting sin then, again by God's grace, you can do what is possible, grow in holiness. Uprooting sin are that are vices will enable us to grow in holiness  through the virtues. As we continue to keep our eyes on Jesus, sharing in his life in this life, we will find ourselves dying in him into the true life. Then the impossible is reached, eternal life with God. All by God's grace and our yes.

Start by doing what's necessary; then do what's possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible.
