How easy is it for us to forget the basic revelation of the Scriptures. Love is the key that opens up the door leading into eternal life. Love is not always easy, especially when the person we are called to love is less than worthy. But God loves me, who is less than worthy. I have sinned and offended God more than anyone has offended me. And yet, he loves me because he loves. If I desire to be with him, I must follow his example of love. I must be willing to lay down my life for the other, even if the other seems indifferent. I do it because God wills it. I do it in response to the love God shows me. I am not heroic, but obedient.
