"In the difficulties which are placed before me, why should I not act like a donkey? When he is mistreated, he says nothing. When he is forgotten, he says nothing. The servant of God must do likewise."

This is true humility after the example of the Master. When he was falsely accused he did not defend himself. When he was brutally beaten, he did not retaliate. Why? He knew who he was and was not defined by what others said or did. He had freely embraced the call to be the Suffering Servant for our salvation. There is a time to defend ourselves and a time for silence. In both we seek the will of the Father, not our will or our good name. Why? We are servants of God, seeking to please him in all we say or do.
