Holiness is primarily a grace from God, responded to by us. When we sin, God gives us the grace of repentance and reconciliation. If we act on his grace, we will once more share in his life of holiness. When others sin against us, again God gives us the grace to forgive the other and to be reconciled. If we respond, then we enter into the holiness of God. God is holy. The more we are in in union with God, the more we will be holy.
