Thought of the Day February 26, 2026 God alone

By 10:48 AM

"I would rather die and come to Jesus Christ than be king over the entire earth. Him I seek who died for us; Him I love who rose again because of us." St. Ignatius of Antioch

One of the temptations that Jesus experienced was the one in which the Devil promised him power over all the world, if he worshipped him. This is one of the subtle temptations the Devil puts before us in various ways: power, control, greed, get the better of another, etc. We must recognize the trap quickly and respond the way Jesus did: Get behind me, Satan. For nothing and no one can fulfill me except God. Only if I seek him and love him above all things. will I be assured of his grace of eternal salvation and union with him. The traps of the Devil are meant to ensnare us and separate us from God. Choose life with God rather than alienation away from him.
