Alleluia! He is risen! What we celebrate is the fulfillment of God's promise to us. His promise was redemption and new life. Christ's resurrection is the gift of life for all who believe and are baptized. It is also the foreshadowing of the resurrected and immortal life we will share with Jesus, if we die in his grace. The resurrection of Jesus is the apex of all of salvation history. As the tomb is forever open, new life bursts forth; the darkness of sin is shattered; new life in God has begun. Alleluia!
