Psalms 41:2 As the deer longs for fountains of water, so my soul longs for you, O God. My soul has thirsted for the strong living God. When will I draw close and appear before the face of God?

From the moment I was created by God, he put into my heart a yearning that only he can fulfill. But because of the law of sin within me due to Original sin, I have sometimes sought things and persons to satisfy me. They may, but only for a short time. The prophet Jeremiah spoke God’s message well: “For my people have done two evils. They have forsaken me, the Fountain of living water, and they have dug for themselves cisterns, broken cisterns that are unable to hold water.” (Jeremiah 2:13) Jesus came to bring us back to the fountain of youth, which we desire.  "If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink: whoever believes in me, just as Scripture says, ‘From his chest shall flow rivers of living water.’ ”(John 7:37-38). Thirsting and yearning for God in the present moment will insure my deepest desires will be ultimately fulfilled.
