Thought of the Day October 6, 2023 A struggling sinner or a persistent sinner?

By 10:35 AM

If we recognized the eternal effects of serious sin, would we sin? And if we sinned grievously-separating ourselves from God--would we want to remain separated from God, knowing the eternal consequences? Knowing and believing what Jesus had to endure--crucifixion--to free us from the bondage of sin, why do we allow sin to be so attractive to us? What makes a potential saint different from the persistent sinner is that the former knows Jesus in his heart, while the latter knows about him. The more one loves the Lord, the more he sees sin for what it is. The sinner loves the sin more than the Lord. We are all struggling sinners. We don't have to be unrepentant sinners.
