"The Cross had asked the questions; the Resurrection had answered them. The Cross had asked: 'Why does God permit evil and sin to nail Justice to a tree?'  The Resurrection answered: 'That sin, having done its worst, might exhaust itself and thus be overcome by Love that is stronger than either sin r death.'"

Death is conquered by Love. Out of love Jesus embraced the will of the Father to become a sacrifice for our sins.  Though he died, he conquered death by rising from the tomb. Death had no power over him. Because of our union with him, sharing his divine life, though we will die, death will not have the final word. If we die in Christ, we will live with Christ in eternal glory. One day our bodies will be resurrected to a glorified body. In faith, even now, we can say: "Death where is your sting? Death where is your victory?"
