"I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now. But when he comes, the Spirit of truth, he will guide you to all truth He will not speak on his own, but he will speak what he hears." (John 16:12-13) Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. The Advocate is the Spirit of truth. Jesus reveals the Truth. The Spirit gives us the deeper understanding of that truth. In reading the Scriptures we see the words, but the practical application of that word comes from the grace given to us by the Spirit. The Ethiopian Eunuch read the words of the prophet Isaiah but needed Philip, led by the Spirit, to give the proper understanding. God wants us to know the truth of his word. He doesn't leave us to our human abilities, but gives us the grace of the Spirit to leads us into the greater depth of this word. When we read the word of God, we should always ask the Holy Spirit to  reveal to us what we need to understand. Come, Holy Spirit, come.
