Personal holiness should be the desire and aim of every disciple of Jesus. God gave us the initial seed of holiness, when in baptism, he gave us a share in his own Divine Life. He renews this grace in the various Sacraments. We are called to nurture this grace by growing in love and avoiding anything that would separate us from God. His life in us is our inheritance. Not to die in union with God is to experience the ultimate failure of existence. Nothing should be more important to us than seeking holiness.
