A true disciple of Jesus Christ makes him the Lord of his life and words. Many people profess to be Christian, but are so only in name and because of baptism. However, their lives are no different than those who do not profess Jesus. They are more concerned with the things of the world than of things pertaining to the Lord and eternal salvation. If Jesus is the Lord of our lives in fact and deed then everything is second place in our lives. Our allegiance is to Jesus and not to the world. There is no straddling on the fence between the two. If we do, then we are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold. Jesus will reject us. A true disciple is all in no matter the consequences. If Jesus is first in our hearts, then he will be on our lips.
