Before we can change the outside, we must first change ourselves from within.  It is easy to see the faults of others, while being blind to our own faults. Jesus said that we should take the wooden beam from our own eyes, before trying to remove the splinter from the eyes of another. Yes, the world is always in need of reformation and this includes the Church. But since we are part of the world and part of the Church, that reformation begins with ourselves first. When we are in a better relationship with God, then the world and the Church is in a better relationship with God. Repent for the Kingdom of God is within you.
