The Gift of Tongues is expressed in two ways. One as prayer between the person and God. The other as a prophetic message to the community. The first needs no interpretation. The second, since it is a word to the community needs to be interpreted, not translated. Our God manifests himself in a variety of ways. Sometimes, he reveals his message to us directly through a prophetic word. At other times, h alerts us to his revealed message through the Gift of Tongues. This is evident in the Scriptures in St. Paul's First Letter to the Corinthians. Who are we to question God. We are called to be open to whatever way God wishes to reveal his plan and purpose. When a  prophetic word is spoken out loud in tongues, we need to ask God to give the gift of interpretation to someone. In any case, we need to be open to God to all his gifts, so that in all things he may be glorified.
