It takes a strong but humble person to recognize one's faults and to know what to do about them. No matter how hard I may try to improve, and try I must, I acknowledge that I am dependent upon the Lord for his strength and grace. When I am weak, his strength is there for me, if I but learn how to turn to him. God knows my weaknesses and failures and is ready to strengthen us, but he waits for us to ask. For he will not violate our freedom, even when we use it wrongly. His mercy is everlasting. It is the sure covering we need to grow in holiness.
