Is it no wonder that God commanded us to love him totally and our neighbor secondarily?  For if we become what we love, in loving God we become life God, sharing in his love and life. If we love our neighbor because of God, we reflect God's eternal love. We should not be amazed that if we love worldly things, that where our heart is, there is our focus.  Only be grace can I love God and neighbor and not let my heart be limited to things that don't matter in eternity. Lent is a time to return to the Lord, to re-prioritize our heart's focus, to realign our path back to the Lord. Let love be the connecting bridge between us and God.
