When one knows God in one's heart and has fallen in love with God, death is seen as a final moment in this life before seeing him face to face.  When we fear death, our heart is too rooted in this life and the things and people of this life. They are more important to us than God. When we fear death, our sins become more captivating than the merciful forgiveness of God. We need to ask God to give us the grace to desire him more than we desire our earthly life. Ask for the grace to believe in the depth of our hearts that he is the All in all that can and will fulfill me. I was made by God, for God, to be with God eternally. Death can be the fulfillment of my destiny or the blockage.
