The person, who is loved, can forgive the mistakes and faults of others, because of being forgiven for his/her own faults by God. The ones who are motivated by hate and not love is blinded to reality. Hate enmeshes them in insecurity and fear. They begin to perceive faults in others which may not exist. The other is seen as a threat or an enemy out to inflict harm. Where there is darkness, any ray of light causes pain. But only the light can reveal the truth. The spiritual blindness in the religious leaders prevented them from seeing and receiving the love Jesus was showing them. Their self-righteousness bore the fruit of hate toward the one who came to love them and set them free. Jesus has set us free. We can choose love or hate.
