Jesus was a man who lived a radical, extreme life. By his life, he set the bar for us to follow. Who was more gentle and humble of heart than he? Who was more patient then he, enduring the contempt and persecution of others out of love for us? Who was more loving than the one who gave his life that we may have life abundantly? Many people go to the extremes in the wrong way for the wrong purpose. Can we, the disciples of the Lord, go to the extreme in the right way for the right purpose? He conquered sin and death by extreme measures. We, in his name, can make a difference in the world by following his example of a radical, extreme life of love, mercy, forgiveness, humility, and patience.
