Too many people seek to pick and choose what they will believe, rather than accept and believe what God has revealed to us in his Word. They are looking for a man-made religion, rather than a divinely revealed religion. God foresaw this and promised the presence of his Spirit to guide us in  knowing and accepting the truth. Many things may be hard to accept in the Scriptures. We need to pray for the grace of faith in Jesus, so that we can embrace what he has taught us. For our faith is first in the person of God. Then, we can embrace, without the need of fully understanding, what he has revealed.
