Grace and free will go together. Grace enables the grace to choose what is good, pleasing and perfect according to the will of God. Free will chooses between what is good or what is evil, in the guise of good. When we depend solely on ourselves, we will more likely make the wrong choice, based on self-focus. God's grace is always present to enable us to look beyond the self to the Other, to make the choice that is in relationship to the Other., who is our ultimate end. Will we allow grace to guide and transform us or will we allow our passions to control us?
